Byron Moore: Narbonne Blog III

Throughout 2008, will post blog entries submitted by standouts from around the state. This one comes courtesy of Byron Moore, USC commitment and senior safety/wide receiver at Los Angeles City Section-contender Narbonne. Moore provides details about preparing for Inglewood.
After months of long practices, off-season conditioning, weightlifting and hours of film-study, my team is ready to kickoff our 2008 season.
Our team is expected to do big things, and anything less than an Los Angeles City Section title won't cut it. A lot of people might not respect us or believe in us, but the team, coaching staff, and the entire school are all together and supporting the team. Everyone's excited to get the season going.
That enthusiasm was shown at our scrimmage last Thursday, when we had the largest crowd that has ever come to see us scrimmage. A lot of people left very impressed and are already talking about seeing our first home-game this Friday against Inglewood High.
It will be the first time ever that Narbonne opens up at home under the lights.
Even though we know as a team these next few days we have to practice before Friday's game there is a lot of stuff we have to clean up before going in to battle, it's good to know that we have a good support base from our parents and the school's student body.
Everyone always asking me every day, When's the game? Is the team ready? Everyone wants us to go to the championship this year and they're all excited.
To finish my blog, I'll say our secondary is taking it as a personal challenge to shut down Shaquelle Evans – the No. 5 receiver in the country and the No. 6 overall player in California.
