Stars of Week Eleven

The Division II quarterfinal game between fourth-seeded Folsom and No. 5 seed Vacaville should have been one of the closest games of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs. Vacaville had averaged 73.6 points per game in their five previous games but the Delta River Leeague champions turned the tables on them, scoring 75 points in the first half of their 75-6 victory.
Folsom quarterback Dano Graves accounted for eight touchdowns in the first half- five passing and three rushing- and is the Section Sports Athlete of the Week for Northern California. The 5-foot-9 senior shrugged off the rain to complete 14 of 22 passes for 357 yards, including a 54-yard strike to Kori Babineaux. He also rushed for 51 yards on eight carries.
Graves has passed for 2,971 yards this season, with 53 touchdowns and only three interceptions. Folsom travels to Atwater to face top seed Buhach Colony on Friday.
Coastal Southern California Thousand Oaks wide receiver/defensive back Richard Mullaney is the Section Sports Athlete of the Week for Southern California. The 6-foot-3 senior caught 12 passes for a total of 163 yards and one touchdown in the Lancers' 28-21 win over Quartz Hill. Mullaney helped set up both of the Lancers' second half touchdowns as they came back from a 21-14 halftime deficit to top the Golden League champions.
Mullaney's 12 receptions from Lancers' quarterback Avondre Bollar were important but so were three passes thrown by Quartz Hill's Dan Pitts that ended up in Mullaney's hands. The interceptions took the air out of the Rebels' offense, which averaged nearly 40 points per game in league play. Pitts entered the game with only three interceptions on the season.
Mullaney broke the 100-reception barrier to up his season total to 101 catches this season, totaling 1,364 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Thousand Oaks advances to the Northern Division quarterfinals, where they will face No. 1 seed and Marmonte League rival Oaks Christian. The Lions earned a 28-26 win over Thousand Oaks last month after the Lancers failed to complete a two-point conversion that would have tied the game with 35 second remaining. That game was played at Oaks Christian; Friday's rematch will be on the Lancers' home field
Inland Southern California Deon Martin scored all five of Bakersfield Stockdale's touchdowns as the Mustangs knocked off Clovis Buchanan in the first round of the Central Section Division I playoffs. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound sophomore rushed for 275 yards on a season-high 36 carries in the 41-30 victory. The win was Stockdale's first postseason victory since 2004, when they lost to Clovis West in the Division I championship game.
The Mustangs will face Clovis West in this week's quarterfinals. The Golden Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the division and had a bye in the first round.
Small Schools Bradshaw Christian running back Brady Dragmire is the Section Sports Small Schools Athlete of the Week following his performance in the Sacramento school's 42-6 playoff win over previously-undefeated Delta.
The 6-foot-1 senior rushed for 242 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 carries. He also intercepted a pass and finished with eight total tackles as the Pride advanced to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI title game.
Bradshaw Christian will face Stockton Brookside Christian in the title game, a rematch of last season's final which Brookside won, 42-38. The Knights also knocked off Bradshaw earlier this season in a 36-30 contest that remains the Pride's only loss. Saturday's game is greater in scope than the last two meetings since the winner will likely represent Northern California in the Division IV state title game.
Dragmire has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at the University of Nevada, Reno. He hit .588 last season and had a 0.71 earned run average.
