Top Talent at Mission Prep Christmas Classic

Among the several holiday tournaments beginning during the next couple weeks is the Mission Prep Christmas Classic in San Luis Obispo, which starts today and finishes Tuesday night.
The field is one of the best in the state, featuring Taft, Bishop Montgomery, Campbell Hall, Los Osos and Sylmar, as well as a handful of out-of-state teams, including Kentwood (Wash.), which features 6-foot-10 center Josh Smith, the No. 1 player in the 2010 class according to Rivals.com.
The 16-team field is split into two divisions, the top-tier National Division and the Elite Division.
The Toreadors, with UNLV-bound guard Justin Hawkins, CSUN-commit Terran Carter and inexperienced but talented freshman point guard Landon Drew, are the favorites. Bishop Montgomery (5-1) and Campbell Hall (4-0) shouldn't be far behind.
Game results and statistics can be found at www.mpchristmasclassic.com.
